Energysense.netA Common Sense and Technically Sound Energy Plan |
||
Home |
Electric Energy is created from a generation source and used in the same instant of time. This makes electricity a unique energy system. Gasoline, natural gas, diesel, etc. all involve storage before consumption. |

This website is designed to provide an energy plan that is based on the technical delivery and supply realities that are the rules of the road on how things operate in our world. Principals of engineering, physics, and economics must be used when considering the objectives of reducing our dependence on foreign oil, or increasing the usage of renewable energy. We live in a sound byte society trying to solve huge problems with a you tube video. We won't solve energy issues in a simple video or sound byte. Stay tuned, engage your mind, and think about the big picture. We shouldn't assume we have been so far off in our current approach that we need to start over. Without a solid understanding of our current world, we will not be able to make good decisions. |

· The Plan o Issues to Resolve § Is a 20% wind implementation possible on a national level? - yes to regions that have adequate wind and a large enough load, but not possible across the entire county - generation remote from load complicates the delivery on a real time basis, and this has already been shown by large dispatchable plants that have been located far from load centers - .. more information to come. DOE Report Says "yes" I have technical issues with Chapter 4 - more to come.... § Will Energy Efficiency reduce the need for any new baseload generation such as coal or nuclear? - NO, we are looking at a projection of an additional 60 million people in the US by 2030 from our current population of 300 million. Energy efficiency can effectively reduce a share of our current usage, and make better use of our resources, but is not expected to provide enough reduction to avoid expenditures in future plants. .more information to come § Will a Cap and Trade program result in 80% of the 1990 CO2 emissions by 2050? - NO! there are no dispatchable generation technologies available to replace our current fleet, and no large scale implementations of CO2 sequestration and capture. Cap and Trade worked for SO2 because there were a number of current technologies, and more technologies developed. The green economy idea of generating millions of jobs, and putting in renewable generation is simply a bridge to no where and will only be a futile attempt of government to create jobs. ....more to come.... § Will we face the risks and storage issues of developing nuclear power? 1. We have 34 new nuclear plant application in progress 2. Time to face the music of developing a zero CO2 emission resource
